NRB Writer Guidelines
- Study the magazine to get a feel for the topics and editorial styles. Don't hesitate to query the publications department via e-mail or USPS mail with a story idea.
- Submit copy via e-mail or CD with hard copy.
- Keep length at approximately 1500 words. Provide sidebars if possible.
- Include headline, byline, subheads and brief author bio. All material is subject to the editorial process and will be altered to match NRB style.
- Focus on instructional, how-to, advisory, testimonial or professional-experience articles pertaining to Christian communications.
- Use multiple sources for information and quotes (direct quotes are preferred).
- Submit artwork, images, logos or photos when possible. Digital art (JPG, GIF, TIF, EPS, bitmap) accepted at high-resolution (300 dpi) on a CD or via e-mail. All artwork will be kept unless specified for return.
- Send material three months in advance of the issue date. Seasonal material should arrive four months before the issue date.
- Expect six contributor copies upon publication. Up to 15 copies may be sent gratis to an organization. Additional copies may be purchased from NRB at a discounted rate.
